Order from Impact through Black Knight & fill up the prize table!

In the past, Blingtoof’s Gitbash has been generously supported by Impact Miniatures and they have stepped up again this year. In prior years we’ve done group orders that I have managed but this year we’re doing things a little bit differently. While we could, theoretically, do another group order I felt that this would be disrespectful to Black Knight Games. They are offering up their space for the tournament and they also keep a regular amount of stock on their shelves of items from Impact. So, as I think you can all understand, it would be cruddy of me to do a group order outside of their till.

All this being said, Impact has once again stepped up in an unselfish way and are supporting the tournament with prizes. Here’s how it’s going to work: Black Knight is going to put in an order with Impact on September 15th. Between now and then, you can make an order with Black Knight and they will charge you for your items through their till. You can either phone in your order at 905-296-3401 or, if you are local to Black Knight, make it in person at the store. You can order practically everything off of Impact’s website and then Impact will give to the tournament as prizes 17% of the total order’s value. So, for example, if we order $1000 in items for ourselves that would garner $170 in prizes for the tournament.

Local players will be able to pick up their items when they arrive. Out-of-towners will be able to retrieve their items at the tournament.

Black Knight will be making this order on September 15th. Make sure you order your items through Black Knight before this date!

This is a very generous offer from Impact and Black Knight is being very kind to accommodate us in this way. So head on over to Impact Miniatures, treat yourself to some miniatures, and beef up the prize table at Blingtoof’s Gitbash!

Don’t forget to submit your roster before 27-Oct!

Hey, folks. It’s hard to believe and amazing to behold that Blingtoof’s Gitbash 2013 will be taking place in a little under four weeks from today! Because it’s now a one-day tournament, I’m trying to do everything I can to make sure rounds start on time. One thing that really saves me time at registration is sending in your roster ahead of time so I’m going to be levying a $5 fine to any coach that does not submit his/her roster via e-mail prior to the tournament to blingtoof@engler.ca. All fines collected will be passed along to the cause for the 2014 Hope Bowl. Coaches submitting their rosters ahead of time will have print-outs of their rosters provided for them the day of the tournament. Coaches that do not submit their roster ahead of time must bring three copies to the tournament (one for the TO, one for your opponent, one for yourself). You may change your roster once submitted but all rosters must be submitted by midnight on Sunday, October 27th. I don’t like to take the heavy-handed approach but, quite candidly, in past years I’ve tried rewarding people who choose to submit their rosters ahead of time but it hasn’t really made a big difference so this year’s I’m going with the stick instead of the carrot.

You picked the Necromicon team from Impact to be on the prize table. Cthulhu fhtagn!

The results of the poll are in and 50% of you wanted the Cthulhu-inspired Necromicom team from Impact Miniatures to be on the prize table. Great choice! This team would work very well as a Nurgle or Chaos team and features some highly original sculpts from Scar Miniatures. Here are some pictures of what the figures look like:

Which Impact Miniatures team would you like on the prize table? Respond by Tuesday at midnight!

Thanks to the generosity of Impact Miniatures and to folks like you that participated in the latest group order we have enough credit with Impact to purchase one of their $35 resin teams. Now you get to cast a vote to decide which team will be on the prize table by picking the team you’d like most from the options below. To get a look at the breakdown of miniatures that come with each team head over to the $35 Plastic Teams page on Impact’s site. The poll will be closing at midnight ET on September 3rd (this coming Tuesday) so vote now!

NOTE: We already have the “Scotling Team #1 (15 figs)” from a previous order so it has been intentionally left off of this poll.

Make sure you register on Hammercon’s Website!

This is late-breaking news that may contradict what you’ve read before if you’ve already bought a Hammercon badge so please read through this and make sure you’re covered! Hammercon is providing us enough space for up to 20 participants. These will be made available on a first-come-first-served basis so pre-registering for Hammercon is highly advised. The first 20 coaches signed up for the event will be given slots to participate. If slots are still available the day of the event it will be first come, first served.

Hammercon now has their event registration integrated with their badge purchase interface. Anyone that I listed as “confirmed” prior to 30-Aug on the NAF Forum Thread needs to ensure that you follow the instructions below to reserve your spot. In order to pre-register for Blingtoof’s Gitbash 2013 you need to:

Step 1: Purchase a Hammercon Badge

In order to reserve yourself a spot you need to purchase a badge that gets you into Hammercon for Saturday. Please do consider attending the whole convention if you can as it’s a great con but a Saturday-only badge will cost $25. Click here to purchase a Hammercon badge.

Step 2: Register for the Actual Tournament

Once you’ve purchased your badge, you need to log into the Hammercon website and go to the actual event page for Blingtoof’s Gitbash by clicking here. You then need to scroll down and confirm that you have the value “Registered” in the “State” pull-down menu and that you then click on the yellow “Save Registration” button:

Once you have done this you should see your Hammercon login ID under the yellow “Save Registration” button in the list of registrants. Then, and only then, do you have your spot at Blingtoof’s Gitbash 100% confirmed. If you run into challenges purchasing your badge or registering for the tournament please contact webmaster@hammercon.ca.

Update: Registration, After-Party, Impact Group Order #2, & FF-Fields. Oh, my!

Hey, everyone! A lot has gone on in the past month so I thought I’d put together a quick post to re-cap everything. It’s hard to believe that the Gitbash is only a little over two months away!

Hammercon Registration

The Hammercon website is now taking registrations for con badges. To participate in Blingtoof’s Gitbash you need to purchase a badge that gets you into the convention on Saturday. At present, the Hammercon website does not have the functionality to sign up for specific events. I have a hard cap of 20 coaches for the tournament due to space limitations so, in order to reserve a spot at the tournament, you need to do the following:

  1. Register for Hammercon and purchase your badge.
  2. Forward your email confirmation of your registration to blingtoof@engler.ca.

Once you do that, I will update the NAF Forum Thread with your NAF ID on the initial post as confirmed. If your NAF ID isn’t there you don’t have a spot so please don’t forget to forward me your Hammercon registration so that I can reserve you a spot. As of this moment there are already nine confirmed coaches.

The After-Party

Within 24 hours of announcing the fundraising effort for the Blingtoof’s Gitbash after-party some extremely generous coaches stepped up and made it happen. I needed $120 to subsidize the cost of the suite and, as of this post, we have that plus $53 extra. For those interested in contributing, you can still do so until October 15th at midnight. Any and all funds raised between now and then (including the aforementioned $53) will be spent on food, drinks, and prizes to make the party even better. You can either contribute on the RocketHub fundraising page by clicking here or, if you’re someone I see locally, you can give me donations in person.

Some have asked if they can contribute via a “tip jar” at the actual party. While I definitely won’t turn that down I’d ask that you e-mail me at blingtoof@engler.ca beforehand with an indication as to how much you’d like to “tip.” This is so I have an idea as to how much I have to spend on the party. I’m not looking for this to be a money-maker; everything I raise will be spent on the party. That being said, I also don’t want to manage the expenditures on the party with a reasonable degree of certainty so please let me know if you’re planning on “tipping” the party.

Once again, thank you so much to the generous coaches who donated!

Impact Miniatures Group Order #2

I’m doing another group order through Impact Miniatures. The deal is the same as it has been to date: You get 10% off everything on Impact’s website and the tournament gets prize support equal to 20% of the pre-discounted total of the order. It’s a very generous deal and I’m so thankful that Impact Miniatures continues to make this available. I want to submit this order on Tuesday, September 3rd. If you’re interested in purchasing anything please e-mail me your order to blingtoof@engler.ca before the end of the day on Monday, September 2nd.

FF Fields Pitches & Tokens

For those that ordered pitches and tokens from FF Fields the order has been submitted. The production turnaround time is relatively long but the results are always well worth it. When I get a production update from FF Fields I’ll be sure to inform everyone.

That’s it for right now! Thanks for reading and supporting the Gitbash.

Blingtoof After Party!?

Since Blingtoof’s Gitbash 3 is already at a pretty nice hotel and is a single-day tournament wrapping up at around 7PM it only makes sense to have an after-party. I have reserved a suite at the hotel where people can come by afterwards and hang out, play games, praise Nuffle for their victories or curse him for their losses and double-skull-reroll-double-skull. I hope that everyone that comes out to Blingtoof can make the time to come by and have some post-tournament fun.

In order to make this happen, though, I need to raise some funds. With tax, the suite is going to cost $183 for the night. To be completely transparent, I do plan to stay overnight in the room. That being said, I’m not looking for people to completely subsidize my stay. What I am going to say is that I will host the party if, by 15-Oct, I have $120 in funds raised (about 2/3 of the cost of the room). Any funds raised above & beyond the $120 will go towards food, drinks, and prizes to make the party more fun.

If you want to chip in to make this party happen you can do so in one of three ways. If you’re someone that I’ll see in person before the tournament you can e-mail me at blingtoof@engler.ca and we can arrange for you to give me your donation the next time I see you. If you’re not someone I’m likely to see prior to the tournament you can e-mail me how much you’d like to contribute and give it to me at the tournament. I’ve also set up a crowd-funding page on RocketHub. CLICK HERE to go to that page and donate.

Thanks, one and all!

Blingtoof Pitches & Tokens from FF-Fields

As has been offered in previous years, I will be taking orders for beautiful Blingtoof’s Gitbash pitches from FF-Fields. As well, Blingtoof token sets will be made available. I will be doing only one order for these this year in early August so I need to get all orders in by July 31st, 2013. The pitch will have some minor tweaks, most notable having the turns count up from the dugout to mid-field on both sides of the pitch, but the pitch will more or less look like this:

You can get pitches in either the hard foam-core puzzle-piece variety (in either six pieces or eight pieces) for €45 (approx. $62) or as a vinyl roll-up mat for €35 (approx. $48).

Also available for order are Blingtoof tokens for Blood Bowl. A set of eight tokens costs $10 and has five re-roll counters, one leader counter, a turn marker, and a score counter. They’re about 1.5 inches across and are made of the same material. Here are what the counters look like:

Don’t forget that players with a Blingtoof pitch gain the benefit of “Home Feeld Udvantij” which gets you a +1 bonus to Fan Factor!

How To Order Pitches & Tokens

Ordering a pitch of either variety will require a $40 non-refundable deposit by July 31, 2013. I’ll settle up with you for the balance once the final cost is known. Additionally, I’ll be dividing the shipping charge evenly amongst those ordering pitches (e.g. if five people order pitches the total cost of shipping will be divided five ways). Token sets cost $10 each. Please e-mail your order to blingtoof@engler.ca before July 31st, 2013, and we’ll work out how you can get me your deposit.

If you live relatively close to me I’ll do my best to get you your pitches & tokens as soon as they’re delivered (likely some time in September). If we don’t connect ahead of time your order will be there for you at the tournament.

Can I Order Pitches & Tokens If I’m Not Coming To The Tournament?

Of course! Do mention in your order that you’re not planning on coming to the tournament and I’ll make arrangements with you to get you your items.
